Biography

Patrick Matthews was born in Manchester, England. He has been educated at the Hochschule Der Kunst, Berlin and the Henry Moore Centre For Sculptural Studies, Leeds University, England, where he gained an M.A (Master of Arts degree) in the history of art. He now lives and works in Amsterdam.

Since the 1980's Patrick Matthews has been creating interdisciplinary artworks as live performance and drawing-based installations. His work has been featured at many International arts festivals and galleries across the world.

The drawings and installations of Patrick Matthews are preserved and represented in video and imagery at archives such as the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds, England and the Multimedial Arts Studio's, Contemporary Art Fund, Odzaci, Yugoslavia.
